Description
The Principal Engineer will be at the forefront of architecture, design and implementation of Fluke Networks’ new generation of high-performance network monitoring appliances and platform. This individual will be part of a team developing very high performance packet processing and protocol analysis capabilities on the Network Time Machine platform to expand the 4G/LTE wireless troubleshooting capabilities.
This is a fast-paced business unit focused on carriers and wireless service providers with a commitment to excellence and efficiency. You will be a key part of the development team and work closely with a small team of outstanding software, hardware and QA engineers.
Role
- Participate in the design, architecture, development and the maintenance of C++ applications especially related to packet processing, wireless protocol analysis, network and application performance monitoring.
- Develop network performance analysis software using variety of technologies (e.g. C/C++, SQL, JavaScript, web tools).
- Lead system analysis impact and provide estimates for technical deliverables.
- Write requirements specifications and implementation design documents.
- Work with remote team in implementation of projects
- Assist with software integration tests, software packaging, releasing and deployment.
Qualifications
- MS/BS in CS/EE or equivalent knowledge/experience.
- Multi-domain technical Architecture (software, database, wireless protocols) – 10+ years experience
- Experience in developing Windows and/or Linux applications, thick clients/web based applications.
- Experience in VC++, Network, Services, Multithreaded application development.
- Excellent software development skills, strong C coding and debugging skills, design for testability.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Working with teams in multiple geographical locations.
- Highly desirable: Knowledge of 2G/3G/4G wireless protocols, esp LTE
Fluency in Mandarin is a plus
