Senior Hardware QA Engineer
VSS is expanding its QA department and actively looking for Test and QA Engineers with a background in high performance software and hardware architecture and networking. QA Engineering will be at the forefront of VSS' new generation of high-performance appliances and platform in ensuring both the performance and quality of its offerings. This is a full time role and you will be part of, and work closely with a team of outstanding hardware, firmware, software, and other QA engineers.

VSS has a growing, and worldwide customer base, and is expanding their product development capabilities to continue its successful growth and expansion.
You will be a key part of the QA team and work closely with Development including both Hardware and Software Teams.
Responsibilities include:
- The design, development, and execution of test automation, including the development and use of high-performance network traffic generators.
- Development of Automation using languages such as TCL and Perl.
- Collaborate with Development, Hardware, Manufacturing and other QA Engineers.
Qualifications
Requirements and Experience:
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related discipline, or the equivalent work experience
- 5+ years in a QA/Test Automation role, working with high-performance, embedded systems for the telecommunications, service provider or large enterprise markets.
- Mechanical design understanding/familiarity. Thermal testing a plus.
- NEBs, UL, TUV, safety and conformance testing experience highly desired.
- Familiarity with Ethernet networks.
- Familiarity with schematics and layout software.
- Familiarity with 10G/1G network technologies at the electronics level.
- Automation experiences a plus. Scripting experience/knowledge required.
- Unix/Windows operating system knowledge a must, system administration experience a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Job involves building and executing test cases and test plans on the mechanical and electronic level of new designs as well generating long term automated and manual testing to diagnose design issues and product failure modes. Assist in developing test plans and scenarios; participate in conformance/certification testing of hardware.
