Description
Key Responsibilities: You will be responsible for developing and maintaining real-time monitoring and reporting applications for telecommunications and data networks. You will take part in all aspects of the software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, peer review, testing, integration, configuration management, and troubleshooting. Your focus will be on driving system architecture for applications and scalability. You will work as an integral member of the architecture team and support self-directed agile development teams through the following activities:
· Requirements Review
· Architecture & Design
· Estimation
· Design and Code Inspection
· Coaching
· Documentation and Training
· Prototyping
Qualifications
General Qualifications:
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, technical and organizational skills
· Strong general programming and problem solving skills.
· Proactive nature willing to take initiative and seek challenges in technical areas that may be completely new
· Ability to view software from an Architectural and System perspective
· Ability to trace down and troubleshoot problems, and highlight architectural weaknesses.
· Thorough understanding of the role and importance of documentation at each level of the development process, including requirements, estimation, design, coding and testing
Technical Qualifications:
· Strong proficiency in Java and associated base frameworks/application servers (JBoss,Tomcat, Spring, Grails, Hibernate)
· Extensive experience with telecom networks.
· Experience in designing and testing highly distributed systems.
· Experience in designing complex data structures that can be used across the enterprise
· Experience with high performance applications and associated scaling techniques (load balancing, horizontal scaling)
· Proficiency with Unix, specifically Solaris 10
· Strong OO Analysis and Design skills with exposure to design tools and design patterns
· Experience with at least one scripting language (Perl, Python, Bash, Groovy etc.)
· Tools: JMeter,Maven,Ant,Archiva,Eclipe,IntelliJ,Hudson/Jenkins,JUnit
· Languages: Java, Groovy/Grails, JavaScript, C++
· Development Tools: Crucible, SVN, Git
· Data Management: Oracle, NoSQL
· 10+ years industry experience
Education: Requires a BS or MS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or other highly related major.
